The Enforce Limit feature allows you to control the number of subscriptions which can be sold for a given template. When the limit is reached, the membership will automatically appear as "Sold Out" to customers, preventing additional sign-ups without requiring manual intervention.
How to Add a Limit
- Go to Templates > Manage > More Settings
- Click on the "Shop Page Configuration" tab
- Find the "Enforce Limit" option (close to the bottom of the list)
- Check the "Enforce Limit" box and enter your desired quantity limit field that appears
- Save your changes
How Limits Work
When a customer tries to purchase a membership which has a limit:
- The system counts all active subscriptions for that template
- Active subscriptions include all subscriptions that are not cancelled or paused
- If the count equals or exceeds your limit, the membership shows as "Sold Out"
- If under the limit, customers can purchase normally
Other Notes
- Alternative to Manual Sold Out: If you manually mark a template as "Sold Out," it will be sold out regardless of the quantity limit
- Existing subscriber treatment: Enabling a new limit will not affect existing active subscribers. The limit only affects new sign-ups.
- Update / Remove Limit: You can update the quantity limit at any time in your template settings (as described above). To remove the limit simply uncheck the "Enforce Limit" box and save your changes.
- Current Subscriber Count: The simplest way to view your current subscriber count is via the pie chart display on your Overview page.
