Certain types of updates to a template will automatically trigger an update to subscriptions that were created from that template. Subscriptions that are not cancelled will be updated. This behavior can be disabled for an individual subscription by unchecking the "Template Sync" checkbox.
Fields that Are Kept In Sync
Various fields will stay the same on the template and on an individual subscription, but some are static and managed individually per subscription. The fields that are kept in sync are:
- All product line items, excluding "One Time Fee" and "Sign Up Bonus" line items.
- All discount line items, excluding "Sign Up Bonus" line items
- Service Charge
- Cancellation Rule (including Minimum Cycles, if applicable)
Subscription level updates are triggered when Template edits are made. These updates will overwrite any individual subscription level updates made to the fields noted above. If you wish to manage an individual subscription without keeping it in sync with the original Template, simply uncheck the Template Sync checkbox and Save your subscription.
Fields that Are Not Kept In Sync
- Order Level Discount
- Shipping Fee
- Fulfillment Method
- Billing Frequency
- Expires After / Expiration Cycles
- Tax Rate
Changes to any of these fields must be managed individually on a subscription level. If you wish to make a mass update to one of these fields across all of your subscriptions, please contact Submatic support.
